There are three distinct benefits that District 13 members are able to access included in their LTD plan.  You do not have to be on LTD to access any of the following programs.

CAREpath is a Canadian-owned and operated health care company that specializes in cancer-related service programs for our members and their immediate family.  This program aids individuals through the medical system by assigning them a personal oncology nurse case manager.  They are there to guide you through every step of your cancer experience from diagnosis through treatment and into survivorship. 

The CAREpath Cancer Information Line is a no-charge service, where members can access cancer-related information for extended family members, colleagues and freinds who have been diagnosed with cancer.  The CAREpath cancer information line provides basic information on a variety of cancer-related topics.  Websites will be suggested for general information requests and detailed information sheets will be available for concerns related to a specific cancer.  The CAREpath information line can be reached by calling 1-800-290-5106 or by emailing info@carepath.ca.

Posaction is a program that provides up to 12 hours of psychosocial counselling per year.  There is a wide variety of counsellors available to aid with work-related problems, personal difficulties, family difficulties and substance abuse.  The program is completely confidential, available to yourself and immediate family members. 

Within 20 minutes of entering the Website, you will have a preliminary assessment of your emotional and mental health. In the event that you are at high risk for a clinical disorder, you will be provided with a set of online tools to help you and your physician identify and treat emotional and mental health problems using Medical Best Practices.
